3. Booking and Confirmation

3.1 How to Book

Bookings may be made via our website quote form, telephone, or email. All bookings are subject to availability at the time of confirmation. A Booking is only confirmed once we have acknowledged it in writing (by email or message).

3.2 Accuracy of Information

It is the Customer’s responsibility to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information at the time of booking. This includes, but is not limited to: full addresses (including postcodes), floor levels, lift or stair access, parking availability, volume and type of items to be moved, and any fragile, valuable, or specialist items requiring special handling.

Failure to provide accurate information may result in additional charges, rescheduling, or, in extreme cases, refusal of service on the Move Date.

3.3 Booking Amendments

Any amendments to a confirmed Booking — including changes to date, time, addresses, or volume of goods — must be communicated to us as early as possible. Amendments requested within 48 hours of the Move Date may incur additional charges. We will endeavour to accommodate changes where operationally feasible.

4. Quotations and Pricing

4.1 How Quotes Are Calculated

Our quotes are based on information provided by the Customer at the time of enquiry. Quoted prices typically take into account: number of helpers required, estimated duration, distance, floor levels, stair access, lift availability, parking conditions, and the volume/type of items to be moved.

4.2 Fixed vs Variable Quotes

Quotes may be fixed-price or time-based (hourly), as agreed at the time of Booking. Fixed-price quotes are valid only for the scope of work described at the time of booking. Any additional items, tasks, or circumstances not disclosed at the time of quoting may result in a revised price.

4.3 Additional Charges

Additional charges may apply in the following circumstances:

  • Items not declared at the time of booking that increase the complexity or time of the move.
  • Inability to park in close proximity to the property due to parking restrictions or unavailability.
  • Excessive waiting time caused by factors outside the Company’s control (e.g., delays with keys, lifts, or third parties).
  • Additional distances, stops, or detours not disclosed at the time of booking.
  • Specialist items (e.g., pianos, antiques, gym equipment) not mentioned at the time of booking.
  • Stairs or floor levels differing from those provided at the time of booking.

4.4 VAT

All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT where applicable. WLT Removals LTD will clearly indicate if VAT is included or excluded in any quotation.

5. Payment Terms

5.1 Payment Methods

We accept payment by bank transfer, card, or cash, as agreed at the time of booking. Payment details will be confirmed in your booking confirmation.

5.2 Payment Timing

For residential moves, payment is typically due on the day of the move, unless otherwise agreed in writing. For commercial or large-scale bookings, a deposit may be required to secure the date, with the balance due prior to or on the day of the move.

5.3 Non-Payment

WLT Removals LTD reserves the right to withhold access to or delivery of the Customer’s Goods in the event of non-payment. Interest may be charged on overdue amounts at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

6. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

6.1 Cancellation by the Customer

We understand that circumstances change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the Move Date: no cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made between 48–72 hours before the Move Date: 25% of the quoted fee may be charged.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the Move Date: up to 50% of the quoted fee may be charged to cover costs already incurred.
  • Cancellations made on the day of the move or after the crew has departed: up to 100% of the quoted fee may be charged.

6.2 Cancellation by WLT Removals LTD

In exceptional circumstances (including severe weather, vehicle breakdown, or force majeure events), we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a booking. In such cases, we will notify the Customer as soon as practicable and offer a full refund or an alternative date. We shall not be liable for any losses arising from such cancellation.

6.3 Rescheduling

Requests to reschedule a Booking must be made at least 48 hours in advance. We will accommodate rescheduling requests subject to availability, at no additional charge, provided adequate notice is given.

7. The Customer’s Responsibilities

To enable us to carry out the Services efficiently and safely, the Customer agrees to:

  • Ensure clear, safe access to all areas from which items are to be collected and delivered.
  • Ensure adequate parking is available, or make arrangements in advance (e.g., obtaining a parking dispensation from the local council).

  • Ensure that all items being moved are legally owned by the Customer or that the Customer has authority to move them.
  • Obtain any required permissions for parking, access, or moving through communal areas.
  • Provide accurate inventory details; undisclosed or significantly larger loads may result in additional charges.

9.3 Claims Process

Any claim for loss or damage must be reported to us in writing within 7 days of the completion of Services. Claims reported after this period may not be accepted. Please retain all packing materials for inspection purposes.

9.4 Customer’s Own Insurance

We strongly recommend that Customers take out their own comprehensive contents insurance to cover their belongings during transit, particularly for high-value or irreplaceable items.
